First off this is not authentic food it’s horrible tasting and definitely not worth the price cornbread was delicious that’s about it trust my review and don’t waste your time or money staff wasn’t very helpful toothless chick was semi nice but not really and there was a younger bratty acting chick who definitely shouldn’t be in the service industry this is one place I was never recommended or eat at again

Always very very very good.The most inspired or highly touted food? No. But staff is always super nice and has never been late with a takeout order.Speaking of the food though. It is phenomenal. Extra cheesy. EXTRA spicy if you want. A super duper solid lunch/takeout option

The place was very clean and quiet, however being from Louisiana myself and being married to a cajun woman this is NOT cajun food or even close. I ordered the seafood gumbo and the lady put my shrimp and crawfish before putting the stuff they call gumbo in my bowl. I have never ever in 44 years tasted anything like that. Brown rice does not go with gumbo and shouldn't even be offered as an option. Gumbo is not a health food.

Delicious for a quick bite if you're looking for savory. A little pricy, so we only go every blue moon, but it's a treat!

The service was really good! Super friendly and even gave input on what they like! You can try samples of different things before choosing what you want. I got the tacos and they were great! Food is reasonably priced and would definitely go baco

First time here. Good food, but they had run out of 3 entrees.

We tried sausage, seafood gumbo and honey sriracha chicken. All were delicious but we wanted more gumbo, less rice!!Can't wait to come back to try more!

Tried this Gahanna restaurant for the first time. Service was great, but beans in the white bean chili were hard. Red beans & rice was just okay.

Best place to have gumbos in the neighborhood. Fast service. They also allow you to taste before ordering. They have brown and white rice options.

Good jambalaya, fast service, friendly people. I'd like to get a chance to explore their menu more, but the plague is a little bit of a stumbling block there, and I have a hard time resisting the jambalaya.Will update when I can get back.

Great bourbon chicken. It's sweet and has awesome flavors. Can't decide whether I love their drunken chicken or the place in grandview more. Both are great. Pro tip... Use the bumble bee as a warm slightly sweet salsa like condiment. They will half and half the entree' if you request.

Very nice cajun restaurant. Located in a very nice neighborhood in Gahanna just near the creek.The food is very good. We tried the vodoo chicken and red hot chicken po boy. Loved the spiciness snd the taste.The staff are friendly and complimentary chips are awesome.

Worst rendition of a New Orleans style restaurant ever!! Just a slop buffet! No real poboys and the gumbo is trash. Don’t listen to people who say it’s good. They have never had good

I first tried J. Gumbo's at a festival in Creekeside. They gave a free sample. By the way, they do this in the restaurant, too. The sample put J. Gumbo's on my list to try. We went during the art walk. I ordered the drunken chicken. It is incredible! I highly recommend the Cajun soulfood of J. Gumbo's!

The owner was actually really nice, he noticed I was standing out in front on a hot day, brought me some water & a bite to eat for lunch, I had a curry chicken / rice... yes it was great if you enjoy spicy as much as I do 😁🤤

Price and portions are great! Very filling and you'll need to take some home with you! The woman at the counter was especially friendly and allowed us to sample their food. I didn't dislike anything I tried. The Spinach Mushroom Creole (a daily specialty) was one of the tastiest dishes I've had in a long while. I definitely recommend this place to anyone who appreciates cajun flavors.

Accepts online orders, but apparently not open. We ordered online and got confirmation, but when my husband went to pick up, no one was there. We called and got no answer, and it said the inbox was full. Disappointing.

J. Gumbo's was incredible. My buddy wanted to come here with our ladies and the 4 of us all enjoyed the meal. We we're impressed with the quality and quantity of the food for the price. A $10 meal will get you lunch and dinner. Drunken Chicken had a kick to it, but was incredible.

Service was good but food to me was terrible. Hopefully it don’t sound rude but the bourbon chicken is the worst I’ve ever had. Voodoo chicken was ok & the bread was just a plain piece of white bread. Overall not very good

Love this place!!! Always smiling faces here. Try the Voodoo with some Bumblebee on top!! Always a great experience.

Good food. I'm not from Loosiana but I like their Bumblebee Stew and Bourbon Street Chicken.

J Gumbo's is a place that encapsulates a lot of feelings for me. In moments of celebration, I have enter J Gumbo's and been greeted with food that could be served to royalty. In times of sadness, the gumbo has lifted my spirits. I love combining different entrees, bumblebee stew is amazing, and there are many great options available. The only real concern can be the price, but for me it is completely worth it.

This place is always delicious. I don't know what happened to our last order. Ordered 4 bourbon chicken through grub hub. Food was like microwaved prison food. Even the kids wouldn't eat theirs. Rice was old and overcooked... The chicken was thick flavorless slop. Never thought I'd give j gumbos a 2 star... But man... It was just awful. Please do better next time so I can change my rating.

J.Gumbo is incredible. I wish the Polaris location hadn't shut down. I would travel quite a distance to get here. Definitely go have some if you never have before. I suggest the Drunken/VooDoo combo.

Food portions are big, fresh food, clean envoirment. I didn't like that the girls behind the counter didn't wear gloves while preparing the food

It was a good food with rice and variety of chicken, would have loved if some fried vegetables were also added to the menu... bit costly but overall good

I was there a few months back for my sisters special needs group event. I had never been so I was excited but excitement went away due to employees being impatient with me and my sister about the menu, not very good customer service at all. And rude. The food was ok and glad May sister had the experience but probably will never come back.

I usually don't do reviews but I really feel that I wasted my money today. Went online to find some good bourbon chicken and JGumbos came up. I asked a friend and they told me the place wasn't good. I decided to find out for myself, so I called in my order thinking that it would take time to prepare. I got home and had to throw both my food as well as my daughters food away. The rice was undercooked, the chicken was over seasoned and way too sweet. The dining area was clean walking in. I dont want to risk throwing my money away again ($14) so I won't be back or recommending. I'm really sad and want my money back.

I had been looking at this place for a few months. And one day i was in the neighborhood, dropped in and got two meals: Seafood Gumbo, my seafood shrimp and crawfish smelled fishy. Was not impressed. And etouffe was alright i wouldn't eat here twice.

Todays experiences was just okay. I had the jambalaya and it wasn't very tasty especially compared to what im use. Prices was great and the inside was a tad dirty. It was differcult to choice where to sit because tables had crumbs. The girl was nice. Overall it was okay.
